Reading
- The lecture notes from the course will be posted after each lecture.
- For the mathematics part of the course, (parts of) [E] Eriksen, Graduate Mathematics for Business, Economics and Finance, Cappelen Damm 2021 is compulsory reading.
Self-test Mathematics
- We provide the self-test Test for FORK 1003 Preparatory course in Mathematics - Solutions for the mathematics part of this course.
- The self-test can be taken before attending the course(to see if you need to follow it), or after the course (to see if you have learned the material and are prepared for your Master courses later in the semester).
- Self-evaluation: Max score for each problem on the test is given, with a total of 84p. A score of 50p or more is acceptable, a score of 65p or more is very good, and a score of 74p or more is excellent.
Lecture plan
- This is the lecture plan for August 2026. The lectures will not be streamed.
- For those of you that followed Bachelor in Business (sivøk-programmet) at BI (or similar courses), the lectures in this preparatory course will be review. In the econometrics part of the preparatory course, Python will be used.
- For most other students, there may be a fair amount of new material, and it is strongly recommended to attend the preparatory course on campus in early August.
